Dr. Alison Bagg
MD, CCFP (SEM), Dip Sport Med.
Dr. Bagg obtained her medical degree from the University of Calgary, after completing her Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at Queen’s University. She subsequently attained her Family Medicine certification through McMaster University. She completed the Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship at the University of Ottawa, and received her Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine, in 2018. She also provides primary care at the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Ottawa. Dr. Bagg was excited to join the team at Physio Sport Plus, having done some of her training here.
Dr. Bagg provided coverage for various local varsity teams during her fellowship, and medical coverage at events such as the National Taekwondo Championships, Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, and FIBA U18 Americas Championship, in 2018. She was the team physician for Canada’s Women’s Para Ice Hockey Team at the first World Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and hopes to become more involved in para sport medicine.
Dr. Bagg is passionate about the benefits of physical activity on our physical and mental well-being. She played varsity hockey at Queen’s, continues to play semi-competitive hockey and soccer, and endeavours to work with her patients to help ease their symptoms and reach their activity goals.
